What do I mean by “deliberate”?
When I think about the word “deliberate” i specifically think about acting deliberately, and more importantly, to live deliberately.
By this I mean having the ability to make decisions, take actions, and consume information in a conscious and intentional way, rather than being driven or subtly manipulated by trends, algorithms, fashions, or other external influences. It is about reclaiming agency over how we think and choose, instead of passively following what is presented to us.
I believe it should be possible to make choices based on what is truly best for oneself and for one’s personal growth, rather than what is most profitable or advantageous for a company trying to sell a product or service. Too often, the options we are exposed to are shaped by commercial interests that distort our perception of what we actually need or value.
I am aware that this might sound like a cliché or something that has already been said many times before, but I genuinely believe that this is an extremely important issue that is often underestimated. Its familiarity does not make it any less relevant; rather, it shows how persistent and unresolved the problem is.
I also believe that technology itself suffers from this phenomenon. One moment everything is about Web3, then suddenly it is all about AI, then agentic systems, and so on. In this constant cycle of hype, we risk losing focus on what truly matters or what is genuinely useful, shifting attention rapidly from one trend to the next without enough reflection on long-term value.
